POPIA Compliance
Protection of Personal Information Act, No. 4 of 2013
Mudanah Research is committed to processing personal information responsibly, lawfully, and transparently in full compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), Act No. 4 of 2013.
Information Officer
In terms of POPIA, Mudanah Research has appointed an Information Officer responsible for ensuring compliance with the Act. All data access requests, objections, and complaints may be directed to: info@mudanah.co.za.
Lawful Processing
We process personal information only when we have a lawful basis — including the consent of the data subject, a contractual obligation, a legitimate interest, or compliance with a legal obligation. We do not process special categories of personal information without explicit consent.
Research Participants
Where Mudanah Research conducts fieldwork involving members of the public, all participants are informed of the purpose of the research, their right to decline participation, and how their data will be used and stored — prior to any data collection commencing.
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to safeguard personal information against loss, unauthorised access, disclosure, or destruction. Access to personal data is restricted to authorised personnel on a need-to-know basis.
Your Rights Under POPIA
Right of access — you may request a record of the personal information we hold about you.
Right to correction or deletion — you may request that inaccurate or incomplete information be corrected or destroyed.
Right to object — you may object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
Right to complain — you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
